Name – Fiona Boakes
Age – 25
Role – Assistant Producer
Background – Studied Media, Culture and Society at Manchester Metropolitan University. I did various work experience placements at Manchester production companies, and I first came to Brickhouse on an internship in May 2014. My one day a week gradually extended into more and I became full time in early 2015.
Favourite film – Blue Valentine, who doesn’t love Ryan Gosling! And it has a great soundtrack.
Pet hate – Rudeness
How’ve you found it so far? – I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far, we have a close knit team who all get on really well and have a laugh. I’ve got to work on so many different projects, which is why I enjoy the job so much. I’m constantly learning about new things and seeing new places – no one job is ever the same, which is what makes it so interesting. My responsibilities have grown since I first started which has led me to have more creative control over projects, and I’ve learnt new skills such as editing.
What do you bring to Brickhouse? – I have strong organisational skills and a good ability to multi-task. Also, being the only female in the team I like to think I bring a different perspective to things.
